Jennifer's Garden
Jennifer has been developing her own small urban garden at her home in Lancaster for 4 years. This is an ongoing journey to fulfil her vision of a sustainable permaculture garden, to attract wildlife and provide food, herbs and medicine. This garden project embraces Jennifer's personal values by which she endeavours to live her life, helping her achieve a sustainable lifestyle. The following galleries help to tell the stories behind that journey.
Recycling the Car
Jennifer and her husband are cycling enthusiasts. They found less and less need for their car. So they traded their car with some friends, who in exchange provided hard landscaping in the garden.
Herb Garden
Jennifer has been interested in herbal medicine for over 30 years. In this garden she has created a home herb garden which provides colour for the eye, herbs for the kitchen and teas and poultices for minor ailments.
Gardening for Wildlife
Jennifer is passionate about the need to provide homes for wild creatures in urban and suburban gardens. She aims to create habitats for a wide variety of species, from earthworms and insects to birds, mammals and local children.
Gardening with our Neighbourhood
In addition to her own garden and work for her clients, Jennifer has developed and maintains the soft landscaping areas in her neighbourhood.
